To promote healthy infant nutrition in France, Bien Nourrir Nos Bébés trains day care professionals on the nutritional needs of toddlers, supports the development of day care centers that offer good nutritional services, and offers cooking support to parents.
Knowledge about the specific nutritional needs of toddlers (defined as children aged between 6 months to 3 years old) is poor in France and meals in daycare centers are generally not fully designed to suit their needs. Bledina wishes to raise awareness about infants’ specific nutritional needs at each stage of their development. With the support of the Danone Ecosystem Fund, Bledina France and its partners La Maison Kangourou and L’Annexe du Kangourou, the Bien Nourrir Nos Bébés project created new day care centers and a baby nutrition cooking center, in order to provide practical information to parents and early childhood professionals, mainly through cooking classes or digital tools. Daycare professionals are also educated about children’s specific nutritional needs at each stage of their development.
In creating jobs in daycare centers and contributing to infant health through appropriate nutrition, Bledina demonstrates its commitment towards parents by contributing to a good alimentation during the 1st 1,000 Days of children’s life, and builds strong relationship with key stakeholders.
The project is now independent and has been handed over in 2017.
